	I Install DjVu Editor (Pro)
-------------------------------------------------------------------
To install DjVu Editor (Pro):

1. Close all other applications and insert the enclosed
    CD-ROM into your computer
2 Click on My Computer, and select the Compact Disk drive
3 Double-click on the Setup.exe file
4. Follow the instructions on screen to install
    the application
5 Once DjVu Editor (Pro) has
been installed, you will be prompted to install the
Express Cartridge Manager (ECM). It is this small
application that enables you to encode by counting each
page processed by DjVu Editor (Pro).

NOTE: If you had a previous version of ECM installed,
Setup.exe has removed it. Your existing page cartridges
are not affected by this operation and will remain intact.

6 After both DjVu Editor (Pro) and the ECM have
been installed, you will be prompted to activate your
initial page cartridge. If you have not previously
installed DjVu Editor (Pro) or page cartridges,
it is highly recommended that you do so at this point
    (http://www.lizardtech.com/licensing/).
Follow the instructions on screen to activate your initial
    page cartridge.

7. In filling out the Web form to activate your cartridge,
you will require your Express Cartridge Manager ID, which
can be located at the Start Menu: Start >Programs>
LizardTech>Express Cartridge Manager>Express Cartridge Manager ID

8. To obtain additional information about this process, or
page cartridges in general, please refer to the electronic
help system located within Document Express Professional
Edition. You can find information in the category: "Express
    Cartridges for Professional Edition."

Note: if you have a previous version of DjVu Editor (Pro)
on your system, it is recommended that you uninstall it before
beginning a new installation. If you are unfamiliar with the
process, you may simply proceed with the installation as outlined
above, but please recognize that clicking on the install file will
UNINSTALL the application first if it exists on your system.
You will then be required to begin installation a second time to
install the applications.

- MS XP users who have upgraded to SP1 may see spurious error messages related

  http://support.installshield.com/kb/view.asp?articleid=Q107997 applies.
- Upgrading users may be prompted with "Read Only File Detected"
warnings during installation. Users should accept the default
setting and remove the old files.
- There are observed problems with the Help system and some older browsers.
LTS recommends IE 6 or NS 7
- A frequent cause of instability is resource limitations. If unexpected crashes occur,
verify adequate swap space and/or consider increasing virtual memory.
- When editing the annotation text by double-clicking to bring up the
"floater" window, "-", "=", "R" keys are not recognized. The text
can be edited correctly from the Text Properties dialog (pop up menu).
- Mulitipage DjVu files which (a) were compressed with Editor 3.5.400 or earlier
and (b) contain spaces in the page file names may be uneditable in this software.
A work-around for this is to save the document as Indirect, re-assemble the
individual files in Editor and save back out as Bundled (or Indirect).
- Integrated thumbnails are not automatically regenerated after a page is
rotated. To regenerate them, "Integrate Thumbnails" after page rotation.
