Тема:    Revision: The Sequence of Tenses. Grammar Test.

Цели занятия:  
The teaching aim:       revising of the introduced material on the topic.
The developing aim:   training and perfecting of the lexical, audition and reading habits    
                                    and skills; developing the pupils’ memory.
The educative aim:     supporting the interest to the English.
The students will be able to:
Identify the patterns of the theme “Revision: The Sequence of Tenses. Grammar Test”.
Identify the patterns of the themes “Sequence of Tenses, Direct and Indirect Speech, Passive Voice”.
Use the words, rules, Sequence of Tenses, Direct and Indirect Speech, Grammar Tenses, Passive Voice in sentences given for them on the board, in the exercises and in the Students’ books.
Develop their skills and habits in hearing, speaking, reading and translating from Russian into English.

Методическое обеспечение :  plan of the lesson, board, Microsoft Power Point Presentation, Video lesson,  “Students’ books”, sets of cards for students, students’ copy-books, text-books.

Тип занятия:  Practical lesson.

Методы и приемы: Explication, illustration, reproduction, investigation.

План занятия:
1. Организационный момент.

Introduction. The objectives, plan of the lesson. The activities from easy to difficult at the lesson.
      T. – Good afternoon, our guests, students! I am very glad to see you at our Lesson, «JOURNEY TO GRAMMAR LAND». Today we’ll see who is the best of all in English; whose skills and habits in speaking English, hearing, reading and even writing are the most perfect ones.
At our Lesson we will have the following stages:
The First stage: Phone drill «Regular Verbs, Irregular Verbs» and Warming-up «Grammar Tenses». We’ll revise some grammar points.
The Second stage: We’ll be listening to your short dialogues and monologue on this theme «Home monologue. Home dialogue».
The Third stage: You should say us what Grammar Tense is used. (Revision of Tenses).
The Fourth stage: We’ll revise the Reported Speech: “Choose the right variant of the Reported Speech”.  
The Fifth stage: We’ll check your skills in searching mistakes in the text.
The Sixth stage: The using and forming of the Passive Voice. Let’s do some exercises on the theme. Give equivalents of the proverbs in which the Passive is used.
The last part of our lesson consists of the Grammar test on the theme “Passive sentences”.

The main idea of the Lesson: KNOWLEDGE  IS  LIGHT,  IGNORANCE  IS  DARKNESS.
The themes of our lesson are: GRAMMAR TENSES., PASSIVE VOICE

Vocabulary: to change my mind a lot of times, thinking about jobs, wages and salaries, job-satisfaction, advantages and disadvantages, educating and upbringing, a model of competence.

B)    T. – You have used different Grammar Tenses. When do we use a certain Tense?
What Grammar Tense do you use in the following situations? You should say us what Grammar Tense is used:
•    Для описания ряда последовательных действий в прошлом. Past Simple Tense.
•    Для описания запланированного действия, которое произойдёт в ближайшем будущем (глаголы движения, to have). Present Continuous Tense.
•    Для выражения будущего действия, которое закончится до определённого момента в будущем. Future Perfect Tense.
•    Для описания действия, которое происходило в определённый момент в прошлом. Past Continuous Tense.
•    Для выражения действия, законченного в прошлом, но связанного с настоящим через результат. Present Perfect Tense.
•    Для описания законов природы, общеизвестных фактов, часто в пословицах. Present Simple Tense.
•    Для описания длительного действия, которое будет протекать в определённый момент в будущем. Future Continuous Tense.
•    Для описания действий, которые были закончены к определённому моменту в прошлом. Past Perfect Tense.
•    Для выражения одного или нескольких действий в будущем; принятие решения в момент речи. Future Simple Tense.

•    Was I going to buy a car if Ann asked me.
      
D)    T. – We’ll check your skills in searching mistakes in the text.

You met Judy. Here are some of the things she said to you in direct speech:

‘My parents are very well.’
‘I'm going to learn to drive.’
‘John has given up his job.’
‘I can't come to the party on Friday.’
‘I want to go away for a holiday but I don't know where to go.’
‘I'm going away for a few days. I'll phone you when I get back.’    Judy said that her parents аre very well.
She said that she was going to learned to drive.
She said that John had gave up my job.
She said she hadn’t could come to the party on Friday.
She said that she want to go away for a holiday but (she) didn't know where went.
She said that she is going away for a few days and will phone him when she gets back.
      
III. Работа по закреплению основных понятий темы.

P2 – Practice: the students practice the new material “Passive Voice” they were exposed to in the presentation phase within a defined, controlled framework.
•    Feedback and correction are especially emphasized. (What is the Passive Voice? How is the Passive formed? Why do we use the Passive Voice?)
      
•    Training drill as a class, then rows, then pairs. (Ex. № 1 «Read the text. Identify Passive sentences». Ex. № 2 «Read each sentence and state if it’s possible to make the sentence passive». Ex. № 3 «Change the active to passive»)
      
•    Fulfill some work with the English proverbs: Give Russian equivalent of the English proverb. Identify the Passive form.
      
•    Fulfill some exercises on the theme “Direct & Indirect Passive”.

      
IV. Проверка знаний учащихся.

T. –  And now we’ll do a Grammar Test.

Change each sentence from Active to Passive:

5.    Somebody paid the men £200 for doing the work.

8.    Somebody was cleaning the room when I arrived.
9.    We had written the test before the bell rang.
10.    They will have translated the text before the bell rings.
